In 2012, Erna Ómarsdóttir and Valdimar Jóhannsson invited Alexander Roberts and Ásgerður G. Gunnarsdóttir to curate and co-produce the 2013 edition of Reykjavík Dance Festival.
Alongside the programme, the pair, with Choreography Reykjavík, opened a bar for the full duration of the festival. The Super Social Space became a site for performances, parties, workshops, dinners and artist talks, exploring how dance, performance and choreography might act as the oil between people in social situations.
Participating artists and curators included Mette Ingvartsen, Danjel Andersson, Kerstin Schroth, Haraldur Jónsson, Ásgerður G. Gunnarsdóttir, Alexander Roberts, Siggi Ámundarsson, Benni Hemm Hemm, Ásrún Magnúsdóttir, Védís Kjartansdóttir and Hrafnhildur Einarsdóttir.
