Initiated and realised by Alexander Roberts and Ásgerður G. Gunnarsdóttir.
Sixty members of the public worked together over one day to award one artist or group 200,000 ISK as a kick-starter fund for a proposed art project. More than forty applications had been received from around the world.
The fund used a public jury process to create critical discussion around terminology in live art, public service and public art, and the transparency of cultural funding. The full adjudication process, definitions, arguments, preferences, debates and applications, was conceived as material to be published rather than hidden behind closed doors.
The project was produced by The Festival, the experimental performing-arts platform founded and artistically led by Ásgerður G. Gunnarsdóttir and Alexander Roberts.
