Curated by Alexander Roberts and Ásgerður G. Gunnarsdóttir.
Founded by artists in 2002, Reykjavík Dance Festival had grown alongside the emergence of a broader dance and choreography ecology in Iceland. Bigger Than Us All marked a new era in which the festival expanded beyond its annual August edition into smaller, curatorially specific programmes throughout the year.
The programme deliberately embraced contradiction and complexity, giving artists who had shaped the festival over the previous twelve years space to stage their most current and pressing work alongside a new generation.
Participating artists included Amanda Apetrea, Ásrún Magnúsdóttir, Choreography Reykjavík, Erna Ómarsdóttir, Halla Ólafsdóttir, Inga Huld Hákonardóttir, Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir, Margrét Bjarnadóttir, Rósa Ómarsdóttir, Steinunn Ketilsdóttir, Saga Sigurðardóttir and others.
