Avslappa Norge

Avslappa Norge is a national learning platform developed through Rosendal Teater's wider work on access and inclusion.

The project asks how arts and cultural organisations can become more welcoming and accessible by treating access not as an additional service but as something structural: connected to programming, buildings, digital communication, working culture, artistic processes and the relationships an institution builds with its publics.

The platform has shared learning beyond Rosendal through online workshops, targeted support, guidance and publication work. It grew alongside Rosendal's development as an avslappa venue and contributed to the publication Å tenke nytt om tilgjengelighet innenfor scenekunsten / Re-imagining Access within the Performing Arts.

Artists and practitioners have been central to the learning process. Documented conversations have included Ivor MacAskill of Cade & MacAskill with Nene Camara of Artsadmin on creating and touring relaxed performances; Ingrid Voorendt and Sarah Mainwaring of Back to Back Theatre on artistic working processes; and Jenny Sealey, Artistic Director of Graeae Theatre Company, on art, activism and access.
