Fæst for byen is an open, locally rooted, free all-day party at Rosendal Teater that began in 2022.
Neighbours, artists, children, teenagers, organisations, collaborators and invited guests take turns as DJs in an hour-by-hour musical relay. The party begins in the morning as an intergenerational gathering and gradually changes character across the day and into the night.
The project treats the party as a curatorial form: a way for different parts of the city to host one another, share music and temporarily remake the theatre as a common social space.
The curatorial structure has evolved from edition to edition. In 2025, the programme was curated by Rosendal Teater's young curators Nicolai Allessandro Mancilla Amador, Marit Bringedal Anti, Maiken Ustad Lian and Ferdinand Nordskag.
