Church of Dancy

2014

A block party curated by the neighbours.

Church of Dancy is very simple. People living on one street or in one block open their homes and invite audiences in for a dance party. The work is about trust and respect: audiences enter other people’s homes, and householders trust the guests they receive.

Audiences wander from house to house and dance with different people, families, couples, individuals and pets. Each household chooses the music and atmosphere, and audiences can stay as long as they want before moving on.
